Restart power infrastructure upgrade completed

The electrical infrastructure upgrade project at Restart has been completed with the power feed to the building now double its previous capacity. A new generator has also been commissioned in order to provide resilient backup in the case of mains failure.

The power distribution and generator changeover boards have also been replaced with a new purpose built distribution board. Given the nature of the business at Restart it was necessary to develop a plan that allowed for safe working on power boards whilst maintaining a supply to the critical equipment within the building.

Local companies Hoare Lea and Ardern & Druggan were chosen to carry out the work with the main changeovers completed over a weekend in November. This was completed to schedule with no impact upon the facility.

We have also taken this opportunity to improve the cooling in certain areas of the hosting suites.

The work has resulted in an improved power and cooling infrastructure capable of supporting the needs of the building well into the future.
